Luma AI Raises $900 Million at a $4 Billion Valuation

Luma AI is a generative AI company focused on building multimodal general intelligence to expand human imagination and capability, particularly in the visual domain. Its core mission is to create a new paradigm for how humans interact with the physical and digital worlds by developing systems that can understand, generate, and operate across text, video, and 3D. The company is best known for its Dream Machine platform, which uses advanced models like Ray3 to generate incredibly photorealistic and temporally consistent video from simple text or image prompts.
Luma AI has raised $900 million in Series C funding, bringing the company's valuation to $4 billion. The round was led by Humain, a Saudi-based public investment fund, with participation from Andreessen Horowitz, Amplify Partners, and Matrix Partners.
Luma AI, headquartered in Palo Alto, California, United States, was founded in 2021 by Amit Jain and Alberto Taiuti. “HUMAIN is the perfect partner for this next stage in Luma AI’s explosive trajectory. To create AI that can help humanity in the physical world and expand our understanding of the universe, we need to build systems that can learn from a quadrillion tokens of information – roughly the collective digital memory of humanity – contained in video, image, audio, and language,” said Amit Jain, CEO and co-founder of Luma AI. “HUMAIN is deploying frontier compute infrastructure at impressive speed, and this is critical to achieving Luma AI’s mission. We are also partnering deeply across customized models, go-to-market, and deployment of frontier capabilities to build a full end-to-end value-chain for multimodal AI.”
