Verkada Raises New Funding at a $5.8 Billion Valuation

Verkada is a leading provider of enterprise security and building management solutions. It has cemented its position as a major player in the tech industry by offering an integrated platform that includes video security, access control, alarms, and environmental sensors. The company's unique, cloud-managed approach simplifies deployment and management for thousands of organizations worldwide, making buildings safer and more efficient.
Verkada has raised a new funding round, bringing its valuation to $5.8 billion. The round was led by CapitalG, Alphabet's growth fund. This significant valuation reflects strong investor confidence in Verkada's robust recurring revenue model and its dominant position in the physical security and building management market.
Verkada, headquartered in San Mateo, California, United States, was founded in 2016 by Filip Kaliszan, Benjamin Bercovitz, Hans Robertson, and James Ren. In 2020, the company joined the unicorn club. “I think Google saw the opportunity with us in the application of AI and everything we’re driving to apply AI to the physical security industry,” said Verkada CEO and co-founder Filip Kaliszan.
